Ryan's Frugalicious Birthday

What do you do when you're low on the dough?
But you hope to celebrate as much as bfoe. (Ebonics for before)
Take the steps devised by a frugal pro:

Step #1- Sleep in. Miss breakfast entirely so you only have to worry about lunch and dinner. And then make a brunch.

Step #2- Make a homemade gift. Or in my case, a mostly finished homemade gift.

Step #3- Get a free video rental from Hollywood Video. We recommend Primer to those who like indie films that make you go, "Wait, what's going on?" Seriously, if you understand it the first time you watch it you are either a genius or lying.

Step #4- Get a free burger and shake from Fudruckers

Step #5- Get a free burger and bottomless fries from Red Robin

Step #6- Get a free yogurt from Yogurtagogo (For a pic see here.)

We can't have birthdays without good food. Good food this year meant free food. And Ryan is to thank for that as he got us those free coupons. Thanks, honey! It was so much fun celebrating the day together as a family, especially when it didn't break the bank! By the way, please be aware that we will be having a huge party on 11/11/11 for Ryan's 30th and you are all invited. (We're saving up for that one!)

That is my idea of a fantastic day. Were the coupons tied to the birthday or were they just coupons? Assuming we are in business school, we will be looking for all the coupons we can get!

They were all birthday coupons! It's amazing what people are willing to give you on your birthday. He did have to join the birthday clubs for all those restaurants but he used his "junk email" account so that he won't be bothered by future promotions. We think it's worth it! We also got a $30 dollar gift certificate to Benihanas that needs to be used by the end of the month. And free Coldstone icecream! Some coupons must be used the day of your birthday but others are within a week or month of your birthday. =)

I had no idea Fudruckers gives coupons for birthdays. We'll have to sign up for the birthday club!
